Someone Went Shopping...

..with a giftcard.  My hubby went to the Home Depot to get tools and came home with potatoes, onions, spinach seeds, and asparagus.  And a couple of kid sized shovels for the little ones who want to help, but find our shovels a little unwieldy.

Yup, he found some more stuff to plant.  So today we planted potatoes, asparagus, and onions.  We're trying to map out where we want everything to end up, so we're holding off on the spinach for a bit.

Planting potatoes.

Cabbage, potatoes, romaine, and past the empty spot in
the middle we planted peas at the far end.

The new asparagus bed.

Onions new home.
Yesterday, we cleaned up the patio and trimmed up the grape vines.  Always a daunting task.  How far back do we cut back?  Did we cut back enough?  Are we keeping them small like the vineyards do?  Do we keep some tall so they can be the patio cover next summer?

We kept some for the patio cover.

They look so bare.
As always, chickens!!

Halo- who we think is the next to lay.

Around the garden we have things growing along.  Some have slowed with the cooler weather, which is all of the 60's during the day here right now.  But we have noticed a difference since we are usually seeing things bolt from the rise in temperature.
