Happy Cinco de Mayo

We harvested the last of the peas and pulled the remaining plants to make a little more room.  For what, I'm not sure.  Despite the four and a half new planters we built since last summer, we still don't have room for all of the things we want to plant.  Darling Hubby found room for some more head lettuce.  We have a little spot to see how kale does over the summer.  The middle size fennel began to bolt, so we'll probably pull it and we're going to harvest the carrots from the onion planter which will give us a couple of more spots.  We're excited to be trying different things from last year.  But really?  I need the tomatoes and peppers to kick into gear.  I want salsa.

From last week, a lovely cabbage.  Our largest yet.

A bitty grasshopper.

The first zucchini of the summer.  Didn't think to take a photo of
it until after I fried it up.

Mixed lettuces are looking good.

Strawberries are plentiful.  I haven't picked them for a couple of days.
I'm hoping to have enough to try out our new ice cream maker later...

The romas are making us drool, just waiting for the first ones to ripen.

Susie.

Salt- see her pretty pink bracelet?  That's how we know it's Salt and not Pepper.

Hermoine.

Future pickle.
