Instead, I've been able to go out into the garden and gather a few pounds of lettuce, carrots and beets for our dinners during the first week of the year. There was even one very long daikon radish that joined one of our salads.
We are beginning the process of mapping out what is there, what we want there, and what we need to order in order to make that happen.
A little peek around the yard....
The big Christmas lights did such a good job keeping the tomatoes alive that we added them to the two front beds that don't see much sun right now.
The celery is sprouting nicely in the added warmth.
The lettuce sprouts don't seem to have been damaged by the low temps last month and seem to be growing again.
Spinach and radishes in the very front are doing really well.
And the tomatoes are turning red!
Broccoli
Brussels
Leeks and carrots
Beets
Fennel
Peas
